Juana M. Otón (Cartagena, 1963) lives in Catalonia. She teaches Classics and is a historical researcher, as shown in her non-fiction debut Prostitutes of Ancient Greece (Ed. Rhemata, 2021).
Her passion for literature has led her to explore new narrative forms in which she can express in her own personal voice other ways to undestand fiction and human experience.
Winner of the Relats de Dona (Women’s Stories) award from the Ayuntament de Tarragona (2004) and shortlisted for the XXVII Concurso de Poesía Urb. Mediterráneo (XXVII ) (XXVII Urb. Mediterráneo Poetry Award) from the Ayuntamiento de Cartagena (2018), Juana M. Otón is a regular speaker at the Centre de Lectura (Reading Centre) de Reus, Ateneo Mercantil (Merchant Atheneum) de Valencia and the historical festival Tarraco Viva. She has also illustrated her short stories and the covers of her works.
