A native of Córdoba, Argentina, Germán Maretto has been working on the craft of writing for over thirty years, both as an author and in practical classes that he gives in his creative writing workshop, mainly for fiction.
Germán has won international awards for his poetry and his novels. His volume of poetry Conjuros de ciudad sin mar (Incantations of a city with no sea) is catalogued in the most prestigious libraries worldwide: the Library of Congress in Washington and the New York Public Library. His first novel, La serpiente y el león (The Serpent and the Lion), was reprinted in Argentina and included in government reading programmes.
His novels explore the relationship of man and his surroundings, with other people and with his own past, unwrapping the layers of deception that we all use in our own lives.
