MANUELA J. LORENZO

Manuela J. Lorenzo (Isla Cristina, 1969) was born in a seaside village. When she was one, the family moved to Barcelona where she still lives, and she has always kept up the contact with her Andalusian roots. She has been a voracious reader from a very young age, seeing literature as an essential element in her personal and professional growth. The classic and contemporary books that have influenced her to become a writer are numerous and varied.

She graduated in Hispanic Philology at the University of Barcelona, and her Master specialised in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art and Thought, at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where she also completed her doctorate in Humanities.

She has worked as a trainer of other teachers and as a secondary school teacher of language and literature for over twenty-five years and has contributed to students’ knowledge with her published books on the teaching of Spanish, as well as the creation of reading clubs developed during her teaching work. Currently, she works in the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
