GERARDO PRIETO MADRAZO

Married and father of two daughters, Gerardo Prieto was born in Cantabria and lives with his family in Santander when he not travelling round America, Africa or the Caribbean. He has three published novels.

With a degree in journalism, Gerardo Prieto Madrazo specialises in sports, writing regularly for El Periódico (Grupo Zeta) and other Spanish national newspapers and sports publications. He is the editor of the commemorative books for the 20th and 25th editions of the International Itálica Cross (cross-country race).

As an athlete, he competed internationally in long and medium distances. He is the director of several cross-country competitions and international athletics meetings in Cantabria, Barcelona and Seville. Both as a journalist and as a manager of athletes, he has attended every Olympic Games since Los Angeles 1984, as well as taking part in the most important athletics competitions worldwide.

His novels explore the complex world of friendship, love, families and individuals, joy and disillusionment. The narrative is enriched with unforgettable characters and the landscapes and experiences of the author himself.
